When Life Gives You Lemons

June 3rd 2019

What’s in a colour? Well, quite a lot actually. We humans are blessed with the ability to distinguish between over 10 million colours. We clearly associate some of them with emotions or states, for example we associate red with STOP in a traffic light but of course this is nuanced as we also associate red with hearts and roses. So we respond to colour in many different ways.

The expression ‘when life gives you lemons’ does not allude to the colour but to the sourness of the fruit, and it’s an encouragement to move on from a current crisis with a positive attitude.

For the ‘When Life Gives You Lemons…’ collection we have chosen yellow, not precisely the colour of the Lemon fruit, but vibrant nevertheless. Some claim the colour yellow makes us feel happier and energised. In Japan yellow is associated with bravery; in some ancient civilisations it is associated with the ‘divine.’ Today lemon yellow is often associated with freshness, ‘out with the old and in with the new,’ and the spirit of renewal, or in other words ‘move on!’ Quite appropriate for this time of year. Lemon yellow might mean something special to you too. Check out this fabulous collection made from our finest ‘Classic Roses’ (fresh-cut roses), and our exclusive ‘Infinite Roses’ (real, preserved roses that last well over a year, without water). Choose one that resonates with you or someone close.
